Australia Awards Scholarships are scholarships managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Australia. The purpose of the department is to ensure that individuals from developing countries, especially those in the Indo-Pacific region, have the chance to pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programs at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.
Australia is one of the best countries where students can benefit from a good education. Recipients of Australia Awards Scholarships have the opportunity to engage in studies and research that enhance their skills and knowledge, empowering them to catalyze change and make valuable contributions to the development of their home countries.

Where and how to apply
Before applying, make sure to find out when you can apply and when the application period ends in your country. Then, pick your country from the list of countries taking part in the program. This will give you all the details you need about how to apply.
In some countries, you can apply online, while others might need you to send in a physical application. Check your country’s profile for details.
How to apply online:
- Visit your participating country’s profile to find the application portal link.
- Please note that Indonesia and the Philippines use a different system, not the Online Australia Scholarships Information System (OASIS). You can find the application link in their respective Country Profiles.
- When you register online, you’ll need to answer some questions to check if you’re eligible. After that, you’ll receive a unique registration number, username, and password.
- You don’t have to submit your application right away. You can create a draft application and update it, along with your supporting documents, until the closing date mentioned in your country’s profile.
Once you submit your application, you can’t make any changes. We recommend applying well before the closing date because OASIS gets really busy close to the deadline, and you might experience delays.
How to apply by mail:
If you can’t submit your application online, you can opt for a mail-in application. To get started, visit your participating country’s profile for contact details. These details will help you obtain a physical application form and any required templates like referee reports (if needed).
- Fill out the hard copy application form diligently and gather all the necessary supporting documents.
- Make sure to submit your completed hard copy application forms and all supporting documentation by the deadline specified for your country.
Deadline
