Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), formerly known as Lagos State College of Science and Technology (LACOSTECH) and later rebranded as Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), is a government-owned tertiary institution located in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. Established in 1978, LASUSTECH evolved from offering programs in various disciplines to becoming a polytechnic in 1986. In 2022, it was upgraded to a university of Science and Technology, signifying a milestone in its academic journey.
The transition was marked by the signing of a new bill into law by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Olusola Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the official presentation of the university certificate by the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC). Following approval from the NUC, LASUSTECH commenced 38 academic programs across its five colleges. This transition reflects LASUSTECH’s commitment to providing quality education in science and technology fields and its dedication to academic excellence and societal impact in Nigeria.
