Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), formerly known as Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, is a state-owned university located in Anyigba, Kogi State, Nigeria. It was established in 1999 by the Nigerian government under the administration of Prince Abubakar Audu, the then governor of Kogi State, with the aim of providing quality higher education to the people of Kogi State and beyond.
The university started its academic activities with four faculties: Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Management Sciences. Over the years, it has grown significantly, expanding its academic programs, faculties, and infrastructural facilities to accommodate the increasing number of students and academic demands.
In 2002, the university was renamed Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in honor of the late Prince Abubakar Audu, who was instrumental in its establishment. PAAU has since continued to uphold its commitment to academic excellence, research, and community development.
