A.S. Hornby Educational Trust offers English Language Teaching Scholarship. The program aims to help people or students from low and middle-income countries improve their English language teaching skills through capacity building.
It offers scholarships for Master’s degrees to teachers and professionals who have demonstrated experience and the potential to make a positive impact on English language teaching and learning in their own country.
The scholarship will be offered based on the applicants’ intellects and experiences which will no doubt go steps further in their career.

Eligibility
To apply for a Hornby Scholarship, please ensure that you meet the following criteria:
- You must reside in and work in a low or middle-income country listed in the OECD DAC list.
- You should have a minimum of three years of full-time TESOL teaching or related professional experience after completing your first degree.
- You must possess an undergraduate degree (with grades equivalent to UK upper second class honours or higher) or a relevant postgraduate degree.
- English proficiency of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, with no section below 6.0, is required for the scholarship.
Note: Before applying for a Hornby Scholarship, you must first submit a postgraduate application to the University of Exeter for the MEd TESOL program. Upon receiving your Exeter application, you will be provided with an Exeter student number. This student number must be included in your scholarship application.

University of Exeter in the United Kingdom.
Scholarship Value
Ten recipients of the scholarship will receive a complete waiver of tuition fees along with a monthly stipend to cover their accommodation, living expenses, and travel costs to Exeter. The is only for a year.
Application Instruction
Please ensure that you first fill out the University of Exeter application form for admission to the MEd TESOL program. After receiving your Exeter student number, proceed to complete the Hornby Scholarship application form available here.
Your Exeter student number will be required for submitting your scholarship application. During the second stage of the Hornby Scholarship application, you will be prompted to provide your responses to some questions.
