Western Delta University (WDU) is a private university located in Oghara, Delta State, Nigeria. It was established in 2007 by the Delta State Government through the issuance of an operating license to the Delta State Ministry of Higher Education. The university was conceived as a response to the growing demand for quality higher education in Delta State and its environs.

WDU started operations with the aim of providing accessible and high-quality education across various fields of study. The institution’s vision is to become a leading center for academic excellence, research, and community development in Nigeria and beyond.
