Margaret Lawrence University (MLU) is a private institution founded in 2022 under the legal frameworks provided by the National Universities Commission Act of 1974 and the Education Act of 1993.

Situated in Galilee, Ika North-East L.G.A of Delta State, the university’s Main Campus serves as the hub of its academic activities. Additionally, MLU has a dedicated Medical Campus located in Rivers Park Estate, Airport Road, Lugbe District, Abuja.

The establishment of Margaret Lawrence University was initiated by the Board of Trustees of the Fountain of Joy and Comfort Foundation, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to humanitarian service. Prior to the university’s inception, both the Foundation and its affiliated organization, the Fountain of Joy and Comfort Ministry, had been actively engaged in various philanthropic endeavors aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged.

Notably, the Foundation and Ministry have been instrumental in providing essential eye care services to address preventable causes of blindness and promote vision restoration. Their efforts have included conducting medical outreach programs, operating state-of-the-art eye centers, and deploying fully equipped mobile clinics to facilitate community eye care initiatives.
