2 Why should I Study Finance as a Course?
Financial education is crucial for success. Knowing about finance, money, and investments is essential, but applying this knowledge, taking risks, and learning from mistakes are what separate success from failure in personal finances. As a Finance student, you will explore courses on decision-making with money, understanding assets and liabilities, saving money for different purposes, and learning how to invest.

3 O’Level Requirements to Study Finance
Faculty of Administration
All applicants who want to study Finance at the University must have obtained Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, and any other relevant subjects at one or two sittings.
Faculty of Social and Management Science
Five (5) SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.

Is Finance a Commercial or Art course?
Finance is basically a commercial or administrative course. In most Nigerian Universities, it falls under the Faculty of Administration, not Arts. However, it can still be studied by Art Students provided they have the relevant subjects.
Can Science Students Study Finance?
Science students who want to make a change will be able to study Finance. However, This will depend on whether they meet the subject requirements in their SSCE which should even be much easier.
What Jobs can I apply for after studying Finance?
A degree in Finance can open up various career paths for you. The available positions a graduate of Finance can fill include Budget analyst, Tax associate, Management analyst, Actuary, Loan officer, Business development officer, Investment service agent, and Data analyst.
How many years does it take to Study Finance?
It takes a minimum of 4 years to earn a degree in Finance. However, if you are a direct entry student, this should take at least 3 years since you are more likely to start from the 200 Level.
What is the cut-off mark for Finance?
Students who score at least a minimum of 140 in the JAMB UTME are eligible to participate in the POST UTME as part of the requirements for applying to study Finance in their chosen universities.
