Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, is located in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State, Nigeria. It was established in 1981 as one of the federal universities of technology in Nigeria.
The university was renamed in honor of Modibbo Adama, the founder of the Adamawa Emirate. The university was established to provide high-quality technical and technological education to students in Nigeria, particularly in the northeastern region of the country.
