Benue State University (BSU) is a state-owned university located in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. It was established in 1991 by the Benue State Government, to provide higher education opportunities to the people of Benue State and beyond.
The university started operations in 1992 with four faculties: Arts, Science, Education, and Social Sciences. Over the years, it has expanded its academic programs and infrastructure to meet the growing demand for higher education in the region.
