Cambridge Trust International Scholarships 2023/2024

The Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust, formed on August 1, 2013, resulted from the merger of two charitable organizations: the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust.

In the 1980s, the University of Cambridge created these trusts to financially support international students pursuing degree courses at the university. This merger aimed to enhance and streamline the support provided to students from around the world studying at Cambridge.

Cambridge International Scholarships & Vice-Chancellor’s Awards are among the programmes set up by the establishment to aid international students in their search for quality education.

Eligibility

The Trust doesn’t have any say in admitting applicants to the University, and they can’t influence anyone’s chances of getting accepted. Therefore, all students are expected to apply through the same process as other students which in turn provides them with the chance of getting the scholarship. For a start, below are the usual requirements:

To be considered, you’ll need a minimum of a good upper second class (good 2:1) honours degree from a UK university or an equivalent standard from an overseas university. Additionally, you should have completed or temporarily paused any ongoing training or educational course.

All applicants must also meet a minimum English language requirement.

Target Countries

Cambridge International Scholarships: This scholarship is designed for applicants hailing from countries outside the United Kingdom or Ireland.

Vice-Chancellor’s Awards: Tailored specifically for UK and Irish nationals who are liable to pay fees at the home rate, these awards aim to ease the financial burden and support talented students in their educational endeavors at the University.

Scholarship Value

The scholarship includes coverage for the university tuition fee, an annual stipend (sufficient for a single person’s expenses), and the Immigration Health Surcharge.

Application Instruction

For any student who intends to commence their Ph.D. studies in the upcoming academic year, applications must be submitted before or by the deadline.

All applicants should make sure to complete the funding section of the online application form through the Applicant Portal. This involves ticking the box to express their ‘wish to be considered for funding’ and also filling out the Cambridge Trust section as required.

The only factors considered while agreeing upon the list of scholarship recipients are academic qualifications, references, and research potential. The financial situation of applicants does not influence the selection process for scholarship winners.

Deadline

There are two general course funding deadlines. The Scholarships have closing dates on December 5, 2023, and January 4, 2024, respectively.
