In his bid to make a transformational impact, the Kaduna State government is offering Scholarship opportunities to residents of Kaduna.
Besides giving loans to students, the government also helps students, who can’t afford education by offering scholarships. It is also a medium by which students who have done exceedingly well in their academics are rewarded.
The scholarship is open to all eligible students in the state, but it is important to know that indigenes will have more slots. If you live there, it’s still a good idea to apply.
Types of Scholarships under KDSG Scholarship
1. Merit Based Local Scholarship
This scholarship is specifically for those who have demonstrated a high level of intelligence in their academics.
To be eligible for the scholarship, you need a minimum CGPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 or 3.5 out of 4.0, must have at least one more semester left, and not be a spill-over student.
Fresh students should also have achieved at least a Grade B in five subjects, including Mathematics and English, with a Grade C in other subjects in WASSCE or NECO, all completed in one sitting before 2017.
2. Information And Communication Technology Scholarship For Girls
The state government believes in education for all and therefore has launched a scholarship program at Mewar International University, Nassarawa State to promote girl-child education.
The main goal of this scheme is to empower women which will lead to the transformation of Kaduna State into a technological hub for Northern Nigeria.
3. Information And Communication Technology Scholarship
While the Information And Communication Technology Scholarship was initially designed for females, it has now been expanded to include males as well because there were not enough female applicants. So, male students are also encouraged to apply for the scholarship.
It is hoped that this move will help make the state a knowledge-based economy and technological hub.
4. Needs Based Scholarship
For anyone to receive this Scholarship, they must be able to demonstrate that they need the funds or support and without it, they might drop out of school. This type of scholarship is not awarded based on academic performance, disability, or any other form.
However, the final decision still rests on the sponsors.
5. Foreign Scholarship
This scholarship has multiple categories, each created to support specific groups of applicants. They are Merit Based, Disability, Emerging Skills Fund, Needs Based, and Sports Based.
Note: There are other scholarships such as French Immersion Course, Law School, and many others but they are currently closed.

Any Undergraduate, Master, or PhD program offered at the University or College.
Eligibility
The requirements listed here are just the basic requirements. This could differ depending on the Scholarship you want to apply for. Here are the requirements:
- You must live in the State.
- You will need to provide your parents’ income tax clearance certificate or a death certificate if applicable.
- An admission letter if you are a new student.
- The applicant must maintain a good academic performance (at least 4.0 on a 5.0 scale or 3.2 on a 4.0 scale).
- Undergraduate applicants should have good grades (at least a B in five subjects and a C in the others) in WAEC, WASSCE, NECO, or an equivalent exam, and these grades should be from a single examination taken within the last three years.
- Postgraduate applicants should have a strong academic record (at least 4.0 on a 5.0 scale or 3.2 on a 4.0 scale for a Master’s degree), and Ph.D. applicants should already have a Master’s degree with a good performance.

The scholarships are for residents in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Accredited Universities or Colleges in Nigeria.
Scholarship Value
The scholarship covers the entire cost of tuition and accommodation for the four-year duration of the beneficiaries’ time at the university.
