The Felix Scholarship was established to provide talented and disadvantaged students from India and other developing countries with the chance to pursue postgraduate education at a university in the UK.
The main aim of the Felix Scholarship is to inspire scholars by exposing them to academic studies, cultures, experiences, and friendships that they wouldn’t have otherwise encountered. Since its inception, over 428 students have benefited from this scheme.
Program of Study
Master’s degree course at any of the eligible or supported UK-based universities
Eligibility
The scholarships are open to:
- Academically gifted and underprivileged individuals from India, with a first-class Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Indian university or comparable institution.
- Academically gifted and underprivileged individuals from countries other than India or the EEA, with a first-class Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and a recommendation from their chosen university.
Target Countries
India and certain other developing countries including Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Hungary, Turkey, Lebanon, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Malawi, Egypt, Czech Republic, Belarus, Bangladesh, Peru, and Lebanon.
Host Institution
The University of Oxford, The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), part of the University of London, and The University of Reading.
Scholarship Value
The scholarships include international tuition fee coverage and a stipend (maintenance grant) to support living expenses (approximately £15,038).
Application Instruction
Candidates must be aware that they can apply to only one institution. For the Felix Scholarships at Oxford, there is no separate application process.
To be considered, you must submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course.
