The University of Manchester in a bid to offer support to anyone who is fleeing as a result of possible danger or conflict introduced a humanitarian scholarship. The scholarship is fully funded and covers other expenses such as living expenses, accommodation, and visa costs.
The scholarship was set up in 2022 and since then, there have been a good number of people who have benefited from it. Like every fully funded scholarship, there are specific instructions and criteria to follow which we will be guiding you on.
Program of Study
All Courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels except the following courses, dentistry, medicine, nursing, and architecture.
Eligibility
To apply for The University of Manchester Humanitarian Scholarship, the following requirements must be met:
- First, you must be at serious risk, or possible danger, or have been forced to leave your home country as a result of armed conflict within the past three years.
- You should be unable to pursue or finish higher education due to your circumstances.
- You have not studied in the United Kingdom or European Union before at any level.
- You must have received an offer of admission for the academic year starting in September 2024.
- You should also demonstrate a good understanding of and dedication to the course you have chosen.
- You should have a strong academic background.

All countries except those that are currently in the United Kingdom or European Union countries.

Scholarship Value
10 awardees will get a scholarship covering tuition fees, living expenses, and visas.
Application Instruction
- To apply for the scholarship, you must first receive an offer of admission from UOM. Without an offer, your scholarship application cannot be considered.
- It’s important to understand that getting an academic offer doesn’t automatically guarantee you a scholarship. The processes of academic admission and scholarship selection are separate from each other.
- For Undergraduate courses, you can submit your application via UCAS. For a Master’s, apply through the school website.
Deadline
The closing date for the scholarship is on 15 April 2024.
