Eligibility Criteria
The ICP Connect scholarship program in Belgium has specific eligibility criteria for candidates wishing to apply:
- Candidates must be nationals of one of the 29 eligible countries and should be residents of one of these countries (not necessarily the same country) at the time of application.
- For an initial master’s degree, candidates’ age on January 1 of the year of intake must not exceed 35. For an advanced master’s degree, the age limit is 45.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are employed in higher education, government, or civil society, or those who aspire to a career in one of these sectors. However, candidates from the private sector or recent graduates with no work experience may also be considered if they demonstrate strong motivation and qualifications.
- Candidates are allowed to apply for only one ICP Connect scholarship application per year.
- Candidates must not have previously received a scholarship from the Belgian government for a study program and should not have enrolled in a study program at a Belgian higher education institution before January 1 of the year of intake.

Scholarship Value
For the full duration of the Master’s program (either 12 or 24 months), VLIR-UOS scholarships cover tuition fees, travel expenses, insurance, and comprehensive living costs, including board and lodging. Please note that VLIR-UOS exclusively offers scholarships for the entire program duration, and partial scholarship applications are not accepted.
