The University of Western Australia’s Global Excellence Program is a funding program that is provided to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Applicants are required to submit their transcripts to the University, where they will be reviewed by the appropriate authorities. However, before that, there are a few things to know about the scholarship including the eligibility criteria, target group, and application process if any.

Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility:
- Students from all countries are eligible.
- You must have received an offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at The University of Western Australia.
- For undergraduate applicants, you should have achieved an equivalent minimum ATAR of 85.00 or a minimum WAM of 65.00.
If you are studying an approved International Academic Pathway (Articulation Program), you must have achieved a WAM equivalent of more than 75.00.
Undergraduate Eligibility:
- To be considered for the scholarship, you must be applying for an eligible undergraduate bachelor’s degree or Assured Pathway course. Exclusions include Assured Pathway to Medicine and Assured Pathway to Dental Medicine.
Postgraduate Eligibility:
- To be considered for the scholarship, you must be applying for an eligible postgraduate degree by coursework. Exclusions include Juris Doctor (20820), Doctor of Medicine (91850), Doctor of Dental Medicine (91860), Doctor of Optometry (91590), and UWA Micro-credentials.
Target Group
Foreign students from all countries are eligible.

Scholarship Value
For students commencing eligible courses in 2024, the scholarship amounts are as follows:
- Undergraduates can receive up to AUD$48,000* over four years or AUD$36,000* over three years.
- Postgraduates can receive up to AUD$24,000* over two years.
- These scholarship amounts reflect the financial support available to students pursuing their education at The University of Western Australia.
Where and how to apply
The scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible candidates based on their ATAR (for undergraduate students) or WAM (for postgraduate students) requirements. There is no need for a separate application; eligible students will receive the scholarship based on their academic achievements.
