P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund (IPS) 2024

Women recently have been taking leadership roles and various governments and NGOs from around the world are doing all they can to empower them. There are programs like the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund (IPS) which provides funding to international women students to study in Canada as well as the USA.

While this is a good gesture from the sponsors, applicants should also note that the scholarship may not cover all educational or personal expenses. Nevertheless, the applicants must be able to demonstrate that they need the scholarship and that without it, it might hamper their chances.

Field of Study

All programs at the Master’s or Ph.D. level in any of the recognized universities in Canada or the USA.

Eligibility

  • The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund is for women who live outside Canada and the USA and are looking to get a postgraduate degree in an accredited college or university in Canada or the United States of America.
  • Another condition required to qualify for the first scholarship is that an applicant must have a full year of coursework left.
  • Additionally, the applicant must also be enrolled and available for the entire academic year.
  • Scholarships are not for research, online programs, practical training, or for internships except if combined with coursework.
  • Students who will be studying at Cottey College are also eligible to apply for P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund.
  • Doctoral students who are through with coursework and are only working on dissertations are not allowed to apply as first-time applicants.
  • Permanent residents and citizens of both host countries, the USA and Canada are part of the program. A student with residency for tax purposes only is allowed.

Target Countries

Students from any country can apply for the program. A student who is a citizen or permanent resident of the US or Canada is not eligible

Host Institution

Cottey College, and any accredited university in Canada and the US.

Scholarship Value

Up to $12,500 is awarded to successful applicants in the spring for the ensuing academic year and the number of awards will depend on how much funds are available.

Deadline

The scholarship will close on March 15, 2024. One of the ways to put yourself in a better position is to apply early for the scholarship as there are lots of applicants who want the spot.
