The Nile University of Nigeria (NILE) is a Private University located in Abuja, Nigeria, and is offering Scholarship opportunities to deserving Nigerian students.

The Citadel of Learning is committed to nation building and one of the ways they contribute their own quota is through the annual scholarships and discounts to undergraduate and postgraduate students aside from providing quality education.

The school has six academic faculties for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies: Medical and Health Sciences, Engineering, Natural and Applied Sciences, Law, Management Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences. Therefore, there is a strong chance that you are going to find the course you want, and even better if you can get the 100% scholarship offer.

Eligibility and Conditions

To be considered for discounts or scholarships, applicants must not only meet the eligibility criteria below but also submit an application:

  • For scholarship applications, the school will either use JAMB scores or O-LEVEL results to determine whether the prospective undergraduate students are qualified.
  • To continue receiving undergraduate scholarships, awardees are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 for each new academic session.
  • Scholarship recipients are required to uphold NILE’s regulations and must refrain from engaging in any acts of misconduct.

Note: Discounts and scholarships do not cover hostel fees.

Target Group

Citizens of Nigeria irrespective of tribe can apply for the Scholarship.

Scholarship Value

For all undergraduate programs except Law and Medicine, scholarships for the 2023/2024 academic session will be granted based on the following criteria:

1. JAMB Score:

240 to 259: 10%
260 to 279: 20%
280 to 299: 30%
300 and above: 40%

2. WAEC/NECO Results:

5 A1s: 10%
6 A1s: 20%
7 A1s: 30%

Note: Additionally, applicants with a JAMB score of 320 and above along with 5 A1s will be eligible for a 100% scholarship.

Based on A-Level results, the scholarship percentages for the 2023/2024 academic session are as follows:

1. NILE SPS (Special Program for Scholars)

3 A’s: 25%
2 A’s: 15%

2. OTHERS

3 A’s: 20%
2 A’s: 10%

For postgraduate programs, the scholarship opportunities are as follows:

i. First-class graduates of NILE’s undergraduate programs will receive a 50% scholarship for their Master’s or PGD programs.

ii. NILE graduates with undergraduate degrees other than first class are eligible for a 20% scholarship when pursuing their Master’s or PGD programs.

iii. Postgraduate alumni of NILE who already hold a postgraduate degree from NILE and are returning for another postgraduate degree will also be eligible for a 20% scholarship.

Discount (Fee slashed)

1. Parents who have more than one child enrolled at NILE will receive the following sibling discounts:

Two children: 5%
Three children: 10%
Four children: 15%
Five children and above 20%

2. Institutions or organizations sponsoring applicants for NILE’s Postgraduate programs will receive the following institution discounts for students enrolling within the current academic session:

5 to 10 sponsored students: 10%
10 to 20 sponsored students: 15%
20 or more sponsored students: 20%
Sports

Applicants who exhibit exceptional performance at the national or professional level are eligible for a full 100% scholarship for their undergraduate studies. However, approval from the NILE Board of Trustees is required if they represent NILE in their respective sports.

Where and how to apply

Scholarships are subject to quotas determined by NILE’s Management and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
