The University of Africa Toru Orua (UAT) is a Nigerian state university located in Toru-Orua, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. It was established by the Bayelsa State Government under the leadership of Governor Seriake Dickson. The university was founded to provide quality higher education opportunities to students in Bayelsa State and beyond.
UAT was established through the Bayelsa State University Amendment Law No. 3 of 2016, which was signed into law by Governor Seriake Dickson. The university began operations in 2016 and admitted its first set of students in various academic programs.
