Sokoto State University (SSU) is a state-owned university located in Sokoto State, Nigeria. It was established in 2009 by the administration of the former Governor Aliyu Wamakko, with the aim of providing quality higher education to students in Sokoto State and its environs.
The university began academic activities in 2013 with the admission of its pioneer students. Since then, SSU has grown steadily, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various fields of study, including natural and applied sciences, social sciences, humanities, and management sciences.
