Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) is a Specialized Federal university in Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria. It started in 1992 when the Nigerian government wanted a place for education, research, and help in farming and related areas.
The university is named after Dr. Michael Okpara, a Nigerian leader who worked a lot in farming and improving rural places in Nigeria. He was a good choice for the university’s name because of his work in farming and rural areas. MOUAU is committed to promoting agricultural development, sustainability, and food security through its academic and research activities.
