Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University (KOMU), formerly known as Anambra State University, was established on November 30, 2000, by the Anambra State Government in southeastern Nigeria. The university was named after Chief Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe, a renowned Nigerian politician and diplomat.
Initially, the university started with three campuses located in Uli, Igbariam, and Awka. The campuses were later consolidated into one main campus in Uli, Anambra State, Nigeria. KOMU began its academic activities with faculties in disciplines such as Agriculture, Arts, and Social Sciences.
