Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), formerly known as Lapai College of Education, is a state-owned university located in Lapai, Niger State, Nigeria. It was established in 2005 by the Niger State Government to provide higher education opportunities to the people of Niger State and beyond.
The university was named after General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, a former military president of Nigeria, in recognition of his contributions to education and development in Nigeria. IBBU started as a college of education before it was elevated to a full-fledged university status.
