O’Level Requirements to Study Economics

Faculty of Administration

Students need to have good grades in their SSCE, specifically earning five credit passes. These should include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two additional subjects from either Arts or Social Sciences in at least two sittings. Some schools only accept one SSCE (WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB) Sitting.

Faculty of Arts and Humanities

To pursue a program in Economics under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, you need five SSCE (Senior School Certificate Examination) credit passes. These should include English Language, Mathematics, and Economics. Additionally, you need at least two other relevant subjects from Commerce, Government, and Accounting. Meeting these requirements is essential for admission into an Economics program at the university level.

Faculty of Social and Management Science

To study Economics at a university in Nigeria, you need to have five SSCE credit passes. These must include English Language, Mathematics, and Economics. Additionally, you should have two more credit passes in subjects from either the Arts or Social Sciences.
