O’Level Requirements to Study Accountancy

Faculty of Administration

For admission into a University in Nigeria, you need five credit passes in SSCE (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), including English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects which could be from Accounting, Commerce, Office Practice, and Government. Most schools allow students to combine O’level results except for a few schools which is usually stated under the special consideration of the course.

  • Two ‘A’ level passes chosen from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, and Geography.
  • National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant programmes including Accountancy with either an upper or lower credit respectively.
